Been talking with a forum member today about Khukri's and thought I would take some pictures of mine to share with everyone.

My First Khukri, a 15" Ang Khola. According to Uncle Bill, it was one of the first Khukri's that H.I. produced and it was possibly made by Kesar. This one is from before Shop 1. It's old!! The handle is a flat oval and very comfortable in my hands.

Specs:
Length 15"
Thickness: ~1/2"
Weight 27.4oz

Here's a Bura made 16.5" WWII that I got on a Tax sale from Uncle Bill with another Khukri. The blade has shallow fullers, it's light and fast!

Thickness: 7/16"
Weight: 21.6oz

My 20" Sirupati Lisa. This is the other Khukri that I got from the Tax sale, many years ago. Also made by Bura. She's very quick in hand and reminds me of a sword. The wood handle is egg shaped and very comfortable.

Length: 20-3/8"
Thickness: A little over 3/8"
Weight: 22.5oz

15" Sirupati by the Rail Road Kami (initials R.R.). Feels like it wants to chop stuff up. Great on brush, saplings and making kindling.

Specs:
Length: 15"
Thickness: less then 3/8"
Weight: 16.2oz

12" Ang Khola. Fun little khukri that feels as though it wants to be a fighter.

Specs:
Length: 12-1/4"
Thickness: 5/8"
Weight: 12.4oz

18" WWII. Kami's mark is the Nepali mountains. The handle is quite long. If I choke up on the bolster, I can get a two handed grip.

Specs:
Length: 18-3/8"
Thickness: 3/8"
Weight 28.5oz

My last Khukri is a Beefy A.S.T.K.. The Kami's mark is a Nepali flag and a sun? The wood handle is very thick! I'd have to work out a lot more to be able to swing this more then a few times each day.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks for looking!

Very nice blades Wildman. I'm especially intrigued with the RR Siru, I have a WWII made by RR, I believe Raju Rasali or Amtrak. It was my very first khuk and the one that started it all.

The mountain mark is Rajkumar I'm pretty certain.

I love looking at some of the early stuff. Thanks for taking the time to post em.

What a fantastic collection! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks, it's a nice little collection. Well, compared to some of the guys here. ;) You're welcome!

Great photos for a great collection. I'm envious!

Thanks!

Amtrak Kami, that's what I was looking for. Thanks for the reminder. :) Some of the early stuff is really nice. Same goes for the new stuff. My most recent Khukri is from 2011 or 2012. The Quality is the same as my early 15" AK.

That ASTK is some kind of beast!

It sure is!  It's been used, but not something that I pull out very often.

Nice display. I enjoy seeing some of the older knives and how the designs have evolved into what we see today.

That ASTK is a beauty. Seems a little pointier and with less of a blade drop than the current ones that are mostly done by Lacchu Kami. Based on the kami mark that you describe and the weight of the knife, I suspect it was done by Vim. I know the earlier ASTKs had a very thick tang, which would contribute a lot to the weight.

The mountain kami mark is definitely Rajkumar. I just received a Bashpati and the mountain mark is present. Auntie listed it as Rajkumar and I double checked, soooo u have a frigging awesome Rajkumar! Congrats on a great collection.

really think that astk is the prize , other than the early bura-- it has very clean lines , i think that is murali--( but several kami used the nepal flag design)

Thanks Gents, I'll try to get pictures of the marks later today.

Definitely an early version of the ASTK. I was just at my parents' house last night and I checked out the ASTK I gave him as a gift. It was one of the first ASTKs to come out when the model was introduced. I always knew it was much thicker with very little taper (practically no taper in the handle), but I forgot how much slimmer and pointier the blade profile is. It seems like the model has evolved very similarly to an M43, which isn't a good nor bad thing, just interesting. Beautiful collection!

Awesome stuff, Heber.

That pre-shop 1 AK is really something special.

I agree that the WWII is probably Rajkumar and the ASTK is probably Vim. Also the 12" AK looks like Shankar (trident mark)

Lets see the pants that go with them! I know you probably made some nice fancy pants for some of them!

I believe you are right that Rajkumar uses the double mountain mark. Mine are like that. I read somewhere that Rajkumar came from the mountainous region in East Nepal called Khotang Village, which I think is a region, not just a village. Could be wrong about the village thing. I believe the etching above the mountain, on the left, is Rajkumar's initials in Devengari and maybe the name of the shop on the right in Devengari.

You are right, I recall reading in a prior thread somewhere that the mountains represent where Rajkumar came from.

Thanks wildman! Nice collection. Interesting history as well. The ASTK i believe is a Vim.

Thanks for sharing; nice collection. It's interesting to see how the HI products evolve subtly in time with each new generation of kamis.
