Very nice start..The sword looks old. Do you know the age ?

The sword may be worth some $$$$. Take care of it, and have it checked before you sharpen it. Some of these WWII officer factory mounts were used with very old and collectible family swords.

That is a nice collection you have.

Beautiful sword.

It's a reproduction US Army Trench Knife from the First World War and the sword is a Japanese NCO Shin-Gunto issue

ahhh the Trench knife...actually more popular now than in WW1 where our boys learned that a entrenching tool sharpened on all three sides was a better weapon than the combat knife. Thus the rareity of actual trench knives and fascination I guess with reproductions. I am a fan of this style of fighter.

That is not an NCO sword it is a type 98 Officers sword with a bo hi blade. (one with a groove) - it does have an NCO looking blade but some of the officers swords were made during the war with the bo hi blade.
