My 1st attempt to chop bamboos with this blade shows poor results... instead of cutting it shatters the bamboo though the blade is really sharp... until i discovered the correct way of using it.... this is a badass knife.... with super thick spine that tapers to a thin point... the grind in the 1st 4 inches starting from the handle is like an axe... I split many logs with this grind...the next 4" is very useful in chopping logs... and the remaining edge up to the tip is the ideal edge for bamboo chopping..

the condor excels in shaving tinder... but in my whole blade carry... nothing beats my kabar Bk 10.

The Edge retention of the BK10 is superb... aside from bamboo shavings i also carved a number of feather sticks with it.

Wow, amazing pics! Looks like a great time. Thank you for the review. I picked up one of these Condor Machetes at Blade, but haven't had a chance to get out into the woods near here to try it out as yet.

Just got a Condor Golok Machete last week. I probably ought to head out and play with it a bit today or tomorrow.

I have one of the first gen Condor Goloks with the 3/4 length tang (doesn't extend into the knob), love that thing, probably my favorite chopper!
Might need to buy a second one as a spare! :)
