That is, until my zt0551 arrives, we'll see who wins out that battle. Carrying the Manix 2 clipped to front right pocket, and have the mini grip down in either one of my front pockets depending on what else I'm carrying (phone, keys, etc.)

Surprisingly I think the Spyderco ball bearing lock is actually much smoother than the axis lock. Maybe not quite as easy to pull back and release as the axis, but the BBL gives a more secure feel, along with the full liners and G10 scales.

I like that, less prone to disengage when gettin jiggy wit it As Im sure most do, I use my thump and index to open/close the manix. Action wise, the manix is a dream come true for me, my favorite knife to open and close (and use) Lovin that orange one.

I agree, after cleaning it really good and applying a small amount of lubricant, it feels like it is gliding on ice. It's by far the smoothest opening and closing knife I've ever held. And when it locks up, it locks up SOLID, almost feels like two strong magnets clacking together.
