Hey fellas
So this isn't technically an Emerson knife topic, but I am posting it here because the original design was inspired by my desire for a custom Emerson, and because I like you fellas here in the Emerson forum the best out of all the BladeForum threads.
I have designed a custom knife, and I am preparing to send it off to Reese Weiland so that it can become a reality. However, I have come to an impasse regarding the construction of the handle: I'm not sure if I want a titanium liner lock with bolsters and scales, or if I want a solid titanium frame lock.
I've exhaustively researched the benefits of both designs, and I still can't decide what I want. So I wanted to get some input from you fellas.
My only limitation is that I DON'T want a hybrid knife (i.e. scale on one side, frame lock on the other) - I like symmetry in my designs, and having a scale on only one side would drive me nuts.
So, what do you guys think? Bolster or frame lock? And if I go with a frame lock, what kind of grooves and patterns (if any) should I ask Reese to grind into the handle?
