Here's one I just finished this morning. I reshaped the blade, rounded the spine, put a brushed texture on the whole liner and made bamboo scales for it. I hope you guys like it.

This is what happens when you have a Spyderco 2nd in the hands of a customizer!! I can't wait to have this one back in my hot hands. Great job Clint, I am floored!

Clint, by the way, you should include a shot of the clip side

Beautiful scales. Love the bamboo. Makes the PPT look like a completely different knife.

I got this bamboo from a "Home" improvement store. They have free samples and that's enough to do one knife. You'll have to rip it in half on a table saw to get the thickness close enough though.

It looks great. I like the rounding o the spine and the brushed liners. Nice and clean look.

I was wondering if anyone was going to notice the liner. The brushed finish makes the back spine look one piece instead of 3 pieces. Thanks for the comments guys. I think my next project is going to be a Yojimbo2.

Great looking job.

I have some purpleheart in my garage that I've been meaning to turn into scales for one of my PPTs, but it's about twice as thick as the scales should be. I think that means it's too thin to rip with a saw without messing it up, so i'll have to sand them waaay down, I guess. Any tricks to the screws/fasteners in a project like this?
Just cut out rough shape, drill (countersink) holes, add clearance to back of scale on lockbar side and then final sanding/finishing?
