I've been buying cheap or busted knives on flea bay flea markets garage sales etc and upgrading them to make knives I enjoy carrying here is my latest. Its black paper micarta, no liners with the the original center liner and stainless pins ( I bought a few stainless shields I was thinking of trying to add a small one). its not finished perfectly but it feels smooth light and solid in the hand the way only micarta can.it used to be a cheap shell handle imperial barlow . I had to clean up the main blade and I shortened both springs a hair to give the blades better alignment with the handle( IMHO of course) Opinions/ comments welcome but not necessary. Just wanted to share with people who may appreciate this a little bit. as no one I know in real life does.

Regards
Robby

Very nice! The fact that you are giving that old carbon steel a nice new set of clothes is awesome. I have been thinking about doing the same with some of my older beat up stuff....

Very nice I have done something like that before with g10. Yours has turned out cool. Thanks for sharing!

Well done - my favorite steel is the old U.S. Schrade 1095, with the old Imperial brand carbon steel being a close second. I've got a few old beaters that will be rebuilt later on.

I like that. The linerless construction is neat.

Good job!

Looks good! With what you are doing its not a real far step to make all the parts
yourself. There is something about overhauling old ones to make them more usable
that is appealing.
