Texan, 16 oz., wood grain leather on the back side, diamond back rattler on the business end. Build quality is top notch, and it definitely ranks high on the "dont get klonked in the head with this" scale. Pics dont do it justice:

I know in Indiana it is illegal for a civilian to carry a sap. That is why I like this idea from Fred Perrin, the Perrin Self Defense Wallet. It has a place for ID, snaps over the belt, and with 10 bucks in quarters (for those pesky parking meters) it serves as a very nice sap. Plus they are legal everywhere and even have been taken on aircraft without a problem.

I can carry on private property where I work when needed. Mostly though, its because I always had a fascination with em, so I got one

thats a FINE looking sap!!! but damn.....16 OZ???:eek: freaking kill a man with that......

I have a cloth sap with a flat 2 oz fishing weight in it and raises baseball sized contusions......i'd ahte to see a 16 oz'er damage

Back when such things were standard-issue for police officers, I saw a lot of different styles. Never anything quite so fancy, however. Gotta dig that snakeskin!

As noted, Missouri specifically prohibits such items under our "concealed weapon" statutes, and all (or nearly all) police departments have declared them verbotenas well.

i know a lotta cops in my neck of the woods wouldnt buy it wasnt a sap, if they caught ya with one they would cite ya and let a judge figure it out, FWIW most LEO's arent stupid.

also suprised folks have carried them on airplanes, the security guys have books with a list of prohibited stuff like that FWIW.
