He hasn't used it, so I don't know if he got it for himself or me. :)

Well, it's a digital camera.

Here's some pics, sorry if they're big, I wanted to keep some detail.

I would say that looks like a Kar 98 Mauser, and some big banana shaped knives. :)

Well we have one good guess at the rifle, anyone else want to take a shot. N2S got the time period right, she was in WWII, and she fought against the Russians in Europe.
The khukuris are from top to bottom

25" Sirupati by KWNN

30" Kobra by Kumar

18" Ang Kohla -- my only non-HI khukuri also the only khukuri I don't know the name of the person who made it well except for the KWNN, nobody in this country seems to know that. :)

18.5" Malla by Sanu
</LIST>

OK, the rifle is some kind of Mosin-Nagant, but one that fought AGAINST the Russians? I guess I'll agree with N2S and say it's Finnish. I know they fought with the Axis, so that's my best guess.

You guys are good! Most people have never even heard of Mosin-Nagants! It's a Sako model 1939 made in 1944.
Here's the reciever markings, if you're interested.

Good looking khukuris. And the M39 Sako looks familiar.....just like the one I have sitting in the corner! I bought mine from a shop for $50 bucks. I like things that most people have never heard of! Especially when they are just as nice or better than what is commonly sought after.:D It's cheaper that way.;)

Many thanks for nice pix. Either I'm going to have to upgrade my camera and take a photography class or quit posting. With all these excellent pix showing up from all quarters and Alan posting pro quality stuff my pix look like cartoons.

I just tore all the sheets off my bed, and lined everything up, snapped about 8 pictures and uploaded the ones I liked best after some cropping and other stuff. :D
