for diffrent reasons the surgy was put on and put off last nite was on again..

today he under went a successful operation to remove a large mass from his colon... there will be further tests and possablity more opperations.

334Dave & Bucksway,

I'm sorry to hear this my brothers. If it weren't for bad luck some of us would have no luck at all!!!!! God only gives us what we can handle...although it sucks some times. My thoughts and prayers are with you guys; I will also be praying for your dad's speedy recovery. You guys stay focused on your family...that's all we have in this world..that and a few good friends.

Dave and 'sway -- glad to hear the outlook is good for your Dad.

I lost my Dad about 11 years ago to colon cancer... he was too stuborn to get examined until it was really too late to do anything. The timing of this is good, as i just scheduled my (first) colonoscopy in less than 2 weeks, need the reinforcement.

Dave and Bucksway, I am very sorry to hear of your difficult news. Know that you and you'rs are in my prayers. My Grandfather was a Nebraska farmer that was tough as nails. I suspect your dad is made of the same stuff. Keep positive and keep well.

Dave and Bucksway,

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your father. My mom recently had the same surgery and just started her chemo treatments. It's a long road ahead but I'm confident that she and your dad will beat this thing.

You and your dad will be getting better. Why? Because BOTH OF YOU HAVE BEEN PRAYED FOR!!! God will bless both of you with complete recovery.

Verna and I both wish you guys Dad the best. Its a scary thing he, and you face.

Dave and Bucksway,

In 1999 I turned the BIG 50. I made the comment to my better half that it had been a while since my last physical and at 50 it would probably be a good idea to set a benchmark for the future. Being guilty of procrastination I just never got around to making that appointment.:o I came home from work one day and my wife informed me she had made an appointment for me with the Doc. I had the physical and as luck would have it, the Doc "found" something in the rear chute :confused:and had me visit a colo-rectal surgeon the very next morning! A colonoscopy revealed a small tumor in the colon wall and was diagnosied as Stage 1 colon cancer. To make a long story short, I had surgery very soon after that followed up with 6 months of chemo. All in all I had a very easy time with everything, never missed a day of work and did not have all the usual side effects of chemo. I was VERY LUCKY and I owe my life to my wife!! Now almost 9 years later I am cancer free, have colonoscopies every three years and still see my Oncologist once a year.

Bottom (no pun intended) line is simply GET CHECKED!!!!!!!!! This is the number one killer of men for cancer and one of the easiest to avoid!! The colonoscopy is no big deal and besides that, the drugs they give you are GREAT!!! :D I actually remained conscience for one and watched a TV monitor during the procedure.

Looked to me like an endless rabbit hole!

Now to bring this back on track to Buck knives, I am pretty sure the colon surgeon used a Buck Zipper with a Gut Hook!:eek::D

Your dad is in my prayers and I hope the best for him.
