My Dad us a wonderful father and a great man and today is his 71st birthday.
Like most men his age, he grew up never leaving home without a knife. My grandfather was a prolific collector of knives and had over 600 when he passed away. As long as I can remember, my Dad always had a Case slip joint in his pocket or a large Buck or Case lock back in a leather pouch on his belt.
That was until I introduced him to the "tactical" folder. I gave him a Taiwan Kershaw for his 55th birthday and he was immediately sold on the concept. The convenience and ease of use of the one handed locker with a pocket clip was just too much to ignore.
Since that day, he never again carried a traditional unless he was wearing a suit, then he carried the engraved Buck Gent I gave him on my wedding day. He never gave up his love of the classic look of bone, wood, and polished stainless blades and bolsters.
Today I am giving him this and he can finally have it both ways.
