I found this in a drawer at my mom's house
What is this pattern called?
How do you tell if it's plastic or mother of pearl?
What was the manufacturing time frame??

Your knife looks to me like one of the hollow shell handled models covered with a thin layer of celluloid (an early form of plastic). I'm not sure when they were first made but they have been discussed here a good bit. Maybe someone else can give you more detail.
