Wanted to share some pictures of my father's pocket knife. He worked for a major supplier to NASA for 30+ years. The little 506 has seen an amazing amount of action. If it could tell stories, we'd be here a long time!

The astronaut is engraved in the scale. Take a look at how sharpened it is...could definetly pick your teeth with it!

Boy - frame that one. Is your dad still around? If so - definitely get some of those stories and write them down. they're priceless.

I've got an old Schrade-Walden Rigger's knife that my dad gave his dad; I inherited it later. Not quite as worn out as your dad's knife, but still well used.

thx - cpr

Thanks for sharing your pics. I really like those old well used knives.

John

I'll second that.

There is something about a well used knife, like an old pair of Jeans or an Old Pick Up Truck, they just have a Class and Character of there own.:)

Thanks for sharing this in a Thread.

Here's a size comparison of his 506 with the 525 Gent.

My dad has retired and lives in Florida. I called him today and asked about his knife. He said he always kept it in his watch pocket because it was small and easy to get to. It was part of his routine. He said he used it for everything! When I asked, "Like what?" He said everything from cutting copper wire to scraping slag!

Funny thing is that it's still got perfect lockup and zero blade movement in any direction. It says a lot about the quality of Buck knives.
