An AFCK. Excellent choice.
The AFCK's been around for about six years now, so your Pre-Pro refers not to the AFCK, but to the new oblong opening hole. Until recently, they had a round opening hole. But, Spyderco has a patent on that. BM has been paying Spyderco a royalty to use that patent. Switching to an oblong hole side-steps Spyderco's patent and saves BM that royalty cost.
Until maybe a year or so ago, BM used the Bali-Song logo on all of their products. The logo on the blade of your new knife is laser etched. The laser can be reprogrammed to draw most anything in seconds. So, changing that was no problem. But, the logo on the handle is screen printed onto a little metal disk with is then glued into a recess in the handle. BM does not own the screen printing equipment, so they have to buy those disks with the logo on them from an outside supplier. Either BM didn't want to scrap the last of those disks, so they used 'em up on the pre-pros, or they just didn't get disks with the new logo in time.
I like the round hole and the Bali-Song logo, so I've purchased a small supply of the older AFCKs.
BTW, I have examples in which the logo appears as silver on black and others in which it is black on silver. Curious.
