Finally got a phone that takes pictures so I can post my gear here. Hopefully the photos aren't as blurry as they seem on my dad's old laptop. Even good photos don't look right on this thing.LOL

Here's my daypack. Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon with a weight of just under 5 pounds without water. I usually carry two liters.

Hygene kit for when you gotta go.

The bulk of my survival gear. The little vial contains a fishing kit and a sewing needle.

Tinder kit

My EDC that I always have. There's two staples in the Right In Rain just in case a screw on my eye glasses pops out.

My EDC that I mix and match depending on the day.

The blades I carry again mix and match depending on what I'm doing and weather.

Good looking kit. Are those the micro pure tablets? I've been meaning to pick some of those up.

Yeah those are Micropur tabs. The little black thing next to it is a photon led with a clip so I can attach it to my hat if I want.

Nice kit! How do you like the Fiskars saw? I just got a Silky 210, man is it sweet. 6.9 oz for an 8" blade and it rips through green and dry wood like a wolverine through lard.

The fiskars is a good saw for the weight. About 3 oz IIRC. I always carry at least 1 water bottle usually two. They just aren't in the pic. As far as extra socks I used to carry two pairs but I never used them. I'm trying to make this kit as minimal as possible. Another thing I didn't mention is that the main compartment of the pack is empty save the casualty blanket. I use that space for extra layers. Usually a rain coat.

Trust me about the extra socks. I learned by making mistakes in Boy Scouts, I once fell into a swamp, had no extra socks, and was very uncomfortable for the rest of the day. You'll be very sorry when you need them and don't have them. You can roll them up, you'll never notice them.

Always with the extra socks. Just one pair of good wool blend socks will make your day!

Don't ever use them? Why not? Hike in with one pair and hike out with a fresh pair. You're feet will love you for that little bit of bliss!!! And then you can say you carry them because you always use them. :D

Add a second lighter. Primitive fire kits are fun to play with and can come in handy (no such thing as bad knowledge, imo) but survival is survival and no time for trusting to antiquated technologies. If you need a fire and the one lighter is dead for whatever reason (and Mr. Murphy will come up with something!) you'll have a back up that should be good to do.

What's that black tube across from the swiss army knife? Flashlight? Always want light! I'm sorta growing on the idea of a headlamp for general purposes, but a good handheld is nice. Extra batteries, too.

How did you get the buckle off? That thing bothers the hell outta me.

EDIT: Just took them off. Good Idea, those things are just annoying.
