I decided to put it back up since people seem like they want to see. I felt like I should take it down since it looked so much like a already made knife even though I was unaware. Sorry for any confusion or frustration I caused

The tip of your knife would stick up out of the handle when closed.

I think you would be better off buying a Spyderco.

you could probably modify the chinook handle easily enough to have the smoother contours, or get custom scales made

Couldn't remember one of the models I was thinking of in my first reply, but looking at some photos I see it was the Des Horn - was going to say it seems like a Chinook/Persian x Des Horn x Endura/Delica blended together.

You are lucky that your perfect knife is similar to ones you can find :)

Why removed?

I once was bored and came up with a folder design that looked a lot like a Chinook as well.

Definitely would not think you copied, they are just good/cool designs. Most times I draw up a blade I soon find a past or current production or custom very similar - even if it is off the wall in appearance.

Think of the Bowie type designs so similar to seax designs and all the wharnies... Spyderco basic blade shape greatness lies in it being a traditional straight back angled to put the edge where a wharnie is for control and efficiency. Now put an imaginary thumb hole on a tradional slipjoints clip blade and look how similar. Imagine any of them enlarged and put on the end of several inches of fixed blade - back to the bowie.

Removing a post after other members have responded to it is just plain rude.

Big Mike

Leaving a post up there that regardless of what I thought was not an original idea and claiming it to be my own isn't right either.. there is no reason to just flat out call me rude..
