My Kershaw Junkyard Dog II that is...

So I'm getting some boxes ready to pack for an upcoming move, and I use my JYD II to start removing an old UPS Label when all of a sudden my shave sharp knife fillets my index finger open. Of course the pain doesn't register until the blood is spewin' all over the place. Is this the first time? No. Is this the last time? Probably not, but I haven't had a gusher like this in years.

Lessons learned:
1) Cut away from yourself (I know, I know).
2) Freehand sharpening with a Fine stone from a Sharpmaker can produce a very sharp edge.

Be careful out there...
 
Jeez man...be careful! I nearly did the same thing with my small ENRG but it was just a close call.....heal up and stop cutting yourself! :p
 
3) always keep your tetnus boosters current because it's ( accidental cut) gonna happen every now and then.
 
The last knife that bit me was my shallot. It was still brand new, I wasn't used to the particular feel yet, and I closed it with one hand. I didn't get my fingers quite far enough out of the way and sliced my pinky. Not nearly as badly as you, though! It stung afterwards, but the cut wasn't that bad.
 
as much as i think pics would not be appreciated. we could use a sticky for those "my kershaw bit me" moments. just to keep us all reminded that we are indeed collecting and carrying sharp objects :-/

It seems to me that you can't be trusted with a sharp knife, so I suggest that you send that JYD II to me pronto.
