I just picked up this 'cute', little Buck 521LE2. Thought my dog would enjoy having a knife all his own.

6 1/2" OAL; less than 1/4" thick; same dogs on both sides of the anodized aluminum handle; blade is 420HC; a sharp edged bugger! And of course Casper just had to 'sniff' it and then called me stupid. He's got 4 fingers and no thumb to open it with!

I think the only honorable thing to do would be to use the knife yourself, since he can't. :)

so did my buckhunting yorky!
she wants one also! ...
kinda of a keep up with casper i guess ..
that or she thinks one of the dogs on the handle is some kinda stud muffen..
well she deserves one i guess as she is quite the buck hunting dog!
oh for you newbies heres some picts of her on the JOB..

Your knife is an example of what we talked about on another thread a couple of weeks back. It is described as a 521, but, it has a 501 blade in it.

The seller referred to it as a Buck 501 even though the label on the box says 521LE2. He showed a pix of the tang stamp and from that I saw it was manufactured in 2006. Grabbed the Buck catalog for 2006 and found the knife and its MSRP and had an idea what to bid. Does anyone have one of these with a 521 tang stamp?

Cabela's 521's and even the 521's from Buck directly for the last few years have been using 501 blades. Or at least that has been my experience.
