...doesn't exist yet! The straight BM was close, had 2 of those. I want something designed specifically as a survival/camp knife. I may have to take the plunge and order a Busse custom, but the wait will kill me! There was a SH variant awhile back that would be perfect if the blade was longer. It was bead blasted with a 7" blade, straight black handle, solid bolts.

Please describe your perfect knife in more detail.

You say straight handles and bead blast, but what blade shape and length do you want?

A twelve incher, I would buy one of those for sure.
I't wouldn't even be an option.

Yeah ever since my Battle Mistress started looking a bit small I've been thinking about how sweet a twelve inch blade would be.

This would be my perfect knife: straight handle design, 12 inch blade, two inch blade width, and a drop point.

I was looking for a pic of one, but didn't sift through all the archives. The knife I'm reffering to had a Bowie shaped blade, with a nice clip that came to a needle point. It had the perfect amount of belly, and the handle was a little thicker than normal. I handled 2 of them, but of course, the owners wouldn't part with them! If the blade was 2 inches longer, I would have found my perfect outdoor knife. I remember the pic was posted by Andy Prisco, and was titled "Variants" and had a bunch of Busse's laid out on a table. It was from maybe a year back. Anyone remember this pic?

Yes, it was very similar to that lone center knife. It had a straight spine though. What is the worth of one of those? Quite expensive and rare I'd guess!

Something very similar was just sold in the 'Custom Fixed Blade' forum. The posted price was $650. Personally, I like this picture a little better.

As for my dream knife, I was working on designing one to have a cousin of mine make for me...then I realized that the only major differences between my design and a Mr. Mojo was about 1/2" of blade, the bladecatcher, and the trademark Busse talon hole.

I plan to test my new Mr. Mojo out next week :)

I have all of the large Busse knives I need for now(yea right) so I think something along the line of the old Mean Street model with a clip point bowie style blade would be just about perfect.

Gee, tknife, you'll have Jerry diverted into swordmaking if you keep on like that. ;)

My straight SHII is almost too big to hang on the strap of my web gear. I don't think my quest for the perfect knife would aim much bigger -- or I'd call it a sword. When I ordered mine, I considered the Battle Mistress a bit large. Now, with the E-handles resulting in 1/2" more handle and 1/2" less blade in the same overall package, I'd consider a BM-E.

If I wanted something that only chopped, I'd carry a hatchet. I want one that can still do ordinary chores -- just in case I lose my SERE 2000, my neck knife, my Bowen Survivor buckle and my Leatherman PSTII....... :D

I don't know about you, but I'm waiting for a 12" bladed BM. Now that would be a chopper!

That would make it a short sword.

The MUTANT Mr. Mojo is my dream knife. I love the look of that knife. The Black Label opener on it is sweet too.

I agree with you...but how it would chop! I have a bolo with these dimensions, but with a thinner blade, and it's a chopping maniac.
