I'm very disappointed at the supposedly latest and greatest Sebenza 25.
Here's a sketch of my dream Sebenza (drafted by my friend Onemine from iknife.org):
1. Inherit blade shape of Umnumzaan, w/ swedge and raised thumb ramp on back of the blade. The swedge is great for piercing, the raised thumb ramp near the thumbstud is good for cutting and could double as a guard.
2. Use BG42 or CPM 3V or 6K as blade material.
3. Keep the original pivot and locking system. The old pivot bushing+durable and secure locking mechanism was a system of perfection. The changes on the 25 are redundant.
4. Keep the handle shape of 25. The new handle design works fine. The handle of the 25 with the finger grooves is quite comfortable to hold and the first finger groove also acts as a guard.
5. Set inlaid version as the default production version to improve ergonomics and prevents slippage (the CF inlaid version for an example).
