Well, as the title says, I finally got my dream team put together. I had wanted a Freedom Arms .454 ever since I was a kid. A while back I happened across one at a killer price but it was in need of some tlc. The original owner had made an attempt to do a trigger job on it. He did lighten it but he went way further than I like on any gun and he managed to ruin the hammer block safety bar. The gun originally came with a big Pachmayr rubber grip, that the original owner used to crudely whittle out two more traditionally shaped grip pannels. It needed work.

One day I had an idea that hit me and I couldn't get it out of my head. I needed it gripped up in some black paper micarta and I'd get a matching Busse to accompany it. The AMS LE was going to be my knife of choice but while my gun was off being worked on, Operation Two Weeks hit and black paper disappeared. Well a couple days ago I ran across a SOB with black paper grips that the owner had smoothed out. The brick pattern always rubbed me wrong for a hunting/camping knife but as soon as I saw the smooth handles I knew it was "the one".

So.......here it is. My dream team.

Very nice! Reminds me of the Ruger Mikey Rourke had in Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man.

Great movie! Haven't seen that one in years. If I remember right, Patrick Swayze had a Freedom Arms pistol in Point Break and John Candy had on in Armed and Dangerous.

Beautiful combo. Freedom Arms are the best of the best. The quality is amazing. You didn't give us any specs, but I presume it's a 6" Model 83 Field Grade?

I have a 22LR Model 97 inbound in a couple months hopefully, but have some other FA's to keep me occupied until then, including this one... uploadfromtaptalk1459118192937.jpg44Mag M83PG 6"
