I was able to make it to the ECCKS today in New York City. I went with the intention of getting myself a Viele, Lum, or Sawby. Unfortunately I had to work and could not get there by opening bell. I was able to get to the show by 3pm two hours after opening bell. I headed to Bob Lums table and saw the dreaded sold out sign, well I guess I expected that. Went to Howard Vieles table again Sold Out. Two hours late and people were sold out. So I wandered around and looked at all the great knives. Then I got to Scott Sawby's table and he was almost sold out, but I was able to grab this knife.

Wow is all I can say about it. this is an amazing knife with incredible fit and finish and a extra thick blade 3/16 thick instead of his normal 1/16. This knife is beefy and the Mother of Pearl is just incredible, and to make it even better Scott is a very interesting and nice gentlemen. He took the time to explain how the knife lock works, all I know is it works great. And this knife is by far the sharpest I have ever held. Sorry about the crappy pics they reall dont do the knife justice.

Looks really, really nice. How was the rest of the show?

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

You scored a beautiful knife, congratulations. Scott is one of my favorites and a heck of a nice guy.

Beautiful score! Scott's CU folder is unique and very well made. Welcome to the MOP CU club! :D

That is an exquisite knife!! Congrats!! Are you going to carry that beautiful knife or is it for show?

How was the rest of the show?

I have his CU model in carbon fiber. The fit & tolerences on that folder are unbelievable.Smooth opening and mine also came as sharp as they come.

I am not sure how much I will carry it. It is much too pretty for a work knife, maybe weekends and special occasions. I really wanted to get a more traditional CU but he had none. This was a great deal because he built it custom for someone then they backed out of the deal.

I didnt get to spend much time at the show. I am an elevator repairman and I got a call that some people were trapped in my area so I had to leave quickly. What I saw was great though. I made a quick lap and there were some great knives and great makers. The show seemed very well attended. I wish I could have spent more time but there is another show next year so I will just have to wait until then.

what is the finish on the knife and bolsters? it almost looks bead blasted, but i am not sure if that is an illusion due to the lighting
