I am really loveing my new ish setup.

The CRKT Premonition is a great tool for work. I carried the Summa for a while but the smaller Premonition is a perfect size. The McGinnis flipper is awsome. I would recomened a CRKT McGinnis flipper to everyone! The Value for the Monney is HUGE.

CRKT Eros 2 is sitting in my watch pocket now. It is a great little cutter. Nice fine point. It is about the same size as a Case Peanut but IMO a better back-up knife. I like that it is a frame lock, it is lighter that a Peanut by far, I hardly know it's there untill I need it. The one hand action is perfect. It has the IKBS system. ( ball bearing pivot ) . It is so smooth to open and close. I love it! The CNC Machined titainium scales are beautiful!

No blade play on either knife. The build quality is really nice on both knives! The Premonition is a great slicer.

Yea. The full size Eros was great. I almost bought it but I wanted a bit more robust knife for EDC, so I bought the CRKT Premonition. Then I was like..... I need a watch pocket compainion. This mini Eros really fit the bill. I love it:

Small
Light
Classy
Fast
Capable
Useable
One handed open and close
Well built
Acto steel....... Jury's still out. :D

I got a Eros 1 recently and think it's a fine knife. I bought it specifcally for those times where super light weight was the goal and I'm delighted with it. The price is high but it's a knife suitable for a blade enthusiast IMHO. This is one of the first knives I have ever purchased for a real purpose rather than just wanting it since my Pacific Salt and my Becker's. I carried mine golfing last weekend with unbelted shorts and it was exactly what I had in mind. No drag on the shorts and unnoticable when carried. I should add that I've had bad experiences in the past with CRKT knives but I suspect the addition of Ken Onion and others may step CRKT up a notch or two on some models.

Like many people here, I have a low opinion of CRKT's folders. The designs have always been nice, but the execution, in my experiences, has been lacking. Sounds like that might be changing.

I like the looks of the Premonition (And the Tuition, designed by the same guy).

I think with the addition of Gerry McGinnis and Ken Onion thing are definetly looking up. I was in the same boat as you but they are definetly producing better tools!

I've been carrying an Eros 1 off and on for four months and I love it. I particularly appreciate the fact that it isn't your typical boxy overwrought, overbuilt, overweight pocket-brick (Chris Reeve could learn a thing or two here). For once, the designer wisely capitalized on titainium's strength-to-weight ratio and pared away all the unnecessary bulk. The larger Eros weighs only 1.5 oz. sans pocket clip, yet it has proven strong enough for any reasonable cutting task I've encountered that didn't require a machete, axe, pry bar or small nuclear device ;). These knives rival anything I've seen from the "big three," and given the excellent design, execution, ergos, materials and IKBS, I think it represents a great value, too.

I've said the same thing...interesting designs, but iffy execution. While most may be functional, many of them look and feel cheap.
I've had several, but I think I've traded off more than I kept.

The Eros is definitely a cut (pun?) above the norm for CRKT folders, but then the price point is above their norm too.

I'm quite happy with mine. Nice "Gentlemans" folder.

The IKBS really is slick and fast.

No disagreement with what kodiak and Rick wrote.

I'm not over-whelmed by the minimal bite the framelock takes, but it seems to lock up solid. Personally I don't care for framelocks (not the function, just the look)...the Eros is one of the few I find tolerable.

There's one thing I've noticed about CRKT's knives in the past that holds true for the Eros: when they release large and small versions of the same pattern, they don't scale everything down from the large model to the small one as a cost-saving measure. For example, both versions of the Eros share the same blade stock and handle thickness, so the small version is comparatively more robust for its size, and the same was true for the large and small versions of the Viele Wasp. Is that typical of most knife manufacturers these days?
