Yesterday, I left work a little early due to not feeling very well. I arrive home ready to hit the sack to get some much needed rest. To my surprise my EDC Sebenza has arrived back from the CRK Spa! I swear this was better than any medicine that I taking because I immediately felt better! I open up the box and all I can say is WOW. CRK you guys outdid yourself. I've carried my Sebbie for years now and finally had felt it was time to go back in for some TLC.

I had the full treatment ran on my Sebenza.

Had the blade Tumbled (StoneWashed), Resharpened, and the Swedge polished.

New Cordtie with new Cordtie Pin installed.

Replaced the Washers with new Perforated Washers

Replaced the Pivot Bushing

Installed a new Clip (I damaged mine while on assignment in FL)

Lastly, I wanted this done for a while and finally pulled the trigger. I will carry this Sebenza until the day I die. I wanted it marked/tattoo'd/engraved with something that is special to me. I had CRK (shout out to Heather because she's simply AWESOME) engrave on the back side of Sebenza "Tarbh Rua na hEireann" tranlation from Gaelic is Irish Red Bull. That is the nick name that my team members gave me a long time ago. So I thought it was fitting that this be on engraved on my beloved Sebenza.

Also to my surprise (again thanks Heather!), I recieved a new CRK cloth, new "Refurbished" B-day card, another take down tool, new box, and the normal papers. I tell you this is a class act all the way. CRK really knows how to take care of their customers. I had talked with Heather several times about the Sebenza, because she wanted to make sure that it was perfect and exactly what I wanted. It was even cheaper than I thought it was going to be (Since I had it engraved, they would have to retumble the scales, so I was just charged the engraving fee!)...Simply AWESOME!

I snapped a few photo's of her this morning from my phone so forgive me for the quality. Thanks for taking the time to read this post. I'm one happy camper right now (now if I could just kick this damn cold, I'd be perfect!).

awesome knife! now you can beat it up and do it all over again;) the engraving is awesome!

how are you liking the perforated washers? I understand why and how they're effective, but can you tell any difference in basic functioning like opening and closing?

I've got one on the way back to the Motherland as we speak, and having sent some in before, I can very much relate to your positive experience and elation with CRK's above-and-beyondness.

They rock, plain and simple.

Professor.

Rock solid knives and rock solid customer service! That one looks BETTER than new! The annodized blue looks like it's jumping off the knife. Looks great.

Having sent a Seb in for some warranty work, and having double lugs added in the process, I can state unequivocally that the CR service is the absolute best I have ever experienced from any manufacturer of any product. For the level of personal attention you receive, they charge VERY reasonable rates for any work done. Additionally, I would wager that Anne, Heather, and Chris would be as happy to read about your satisfaction as you are with your knife - let's hope they see this. Carry the knife well, my friend.

Chad - When I had the double lugs added to my EDC Seb, they sneaked in the perforated washers unexpectedly. They take the typical Seb smoothness to a whole new level. Best functional upgrade you can do, IMO. I don't know that I'd recommend sending a knife in just for that, but if you happen to need any other service, absolutely get them installed. I think they run less than $10 IIRC.

thanks for the info... really good to know. i well definitely go for that upgrade in the near future, but my Sebe is still in pretty good shape. I will take your advice, and when i need some type of service i will opt for the washers as well. thanks again.

Thanks for all the kind words. I think I've opened/closed her over 100 times at work already today (slow day at the office!)

DallasSTB is right about the washers, my Sebbie was smooth before, but's it's incredibly smooth now. Also just so you know, when you replace the washers to the perforated washers, they will also need to change out your pivot bushing. Washers cost .75 each (1.50 total) and 6.00 for a new pivot bushing. Fantastic deal! I recommend this highly.

That sounds and looks like a nice refurb, Highpower1.

The last knife I sent in, a large Classic with Snakewood inlay, came back with several additions like yours! As well as the general polish and clean I got the new perforated washers, pivot bushing added and the new lanyard holder fitted.

I especially like the quote on the back scale. I'm Irish myself. Where are your people from, do you know?

My Father and family was from Dublin and My Mother and her family was from County Cork.

Mark, I truly love your Sebenza's very classy collection! I always love when you post them. How's the display coming for them?

Cool. All my father's side I can trace back to are from the north-west but my maternal grandfather was from the south of the country too, Ballyregan in Cork.

Thanks for the compliment about my collection. Looking around the forums and shops I'm always tempted to add to it but I am happy enough with what I have - maybe one in and one out if I get bored with them later but no additions or changes for the time being! I have the desk stand all finished and I also made another flat one which is handier for moving around. I want to get all the knives outside for a brighter group shot on the stand, hopefully later sometime.
