As had already been mentioned in different threads, I too sent my Elk 112 back to exchange it for another. No real quality issues, just had scales that didn't look very nice...

After talking to Susan on the phone and via e-mail regarding this, she took the time to go through the remaining 112's to find one she thought I would like.

Well, it arrived today and was waiting for me tonight when I got home from work....

I'm a very happy camper.... Its sweet. The scales look great, blade is oh so smooth with no play. I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow before I go to work if I get time.

I have to say that working with Susan couldn't have been more pleasant. All her help is very much appreciated.

It is always good to hear that Buck made it right. I did not have any doubt they would, but it is always nice to hear that the customer is happy.

NOW WE NEED PICS LOL :p

Thanks,
John

Heres a couple quick pics.... The more I play with this one, I REALLY like it.

I'll bet that looks sweet with the dam steel..
I don't know what it is, but I've been bitten more times by Bucks than any other knives I own :D...
Kinda funny though, it makes ya bond with them

It kinda makes you and the knife "blood brothers".

Ok now I'm pissed...your 112 has better looking scales than mine. I want a repacement for the one I got!!!! LOL, just kidding. Sweet looking knife. I'm glad you sent it back and got one you are happy with;)

I think it's about the best looking one that's been posted including my two.

Thanks for the compliments. This ones gonna be seeing some belt time, and its already beggin to go hunting this year :D

The scales on that look better than mine in Sambar stag. You really hit the jackpot there.

338,You'd actually take that 112 hunting. Please post pictures of it in the goo.DM

Absolutely Dave.. I'm real picky about my huntin knives, and very few are selected to go out in the woods. This one is just beggin though
Besides that, havin the Elk on the 112 might just be some kinda good luck charm for a nice Bull Elk. Either that or they will sense it and run far, far away :D

I have another 2 1/2 months till our archery season starts and hopefully opening day I'll have lots of good pics to share

I didn't get a replacement, but ordered another one and it arrived today...I must say the one I got was better looking than the first...2 winners for me...Can't complain...

Mine came today. First handle of this type I've ever had. Real light on one side with no texture or dark features. Other side a little more of both, similar to what others had complained/returned for. Also the blade is way over to the side when closed and a little vertical play when open. But for me it was meant as a user and took a chance buying unseen and am okay with what I got (especially since no more to "swap" for) and for $50 not too shabby.

Now, the buffalo 500 that also came today was flat perfect! Those web specials were a great way for me to grab a few I would never have considered/afforded. Pleased with mine.
