Hey again, brothers.

Obligatory "Not hating or bashing" statement stated.

I just need to know something, and vent some frustration. Details are irrelevant.

Ok. The question in the title:
Is it in the norm to never ever EVER hear a back from EKI when emailing? Even after a calling them and mentioning said email? And being told it would be flagged?

Ive never been responded to in years. For anything.

I am a huge Emerson fan. Grail knife, Main EDC, and all that. But I'm also unique in the fact that I've experienced all of the famous issues the haters hate them for.

It's really annoying to feel like this crap only happens to me.

Especially when I'm just about to drop more cash on another one, and know, JUST KNOW, that something is going to go wrong. Somehow.

Yep. First World problems.

I still can't wait to get my new one, but DAMN I wish I didn't have such a bad track record. I wish the sense of anticipation wasnt accompanied by a sense of dread and spite.

Anyone else I know would have been done with the company after everything I've put up with.

Go Me for hanging in there lol! Pat, pat, pat.

Thx for letting me vent, guys. I realize most of this isn't really clear from out there where you're sitting.

I just want to know if the email silence is the norm. Might help the OCD a bit.

It'd just be nice to hear I'm not the only one who hasnt been blown away by the service everyone else claims to be so stellar. Is it really just me?

Love the knives tho, and the peeps.

Thx again guys!

Could be a delivery problem. I see it all the time at work; my replies to someone bounce.

Try another channel to see if you can reach them. We put up in our FAQ all of our social media links so if one is out of action for an IT problem or that guy is out of the office there's a plan B.

I'm not sure how official this place is so you could be waiting a while for the mod to check in.

I had a problem and Emerson answered my emails , first attempts they had some trouble with the system. I pmed Emerson rep here and they got ahold of the crew who replied to me .

Well after that Emerson sent my knife back before I could pay for shipping . I emailed them 3 times insisting they let me pay for the shipping they just paid for and they never responded to that one.

Must just be my spooky bad luck, then. This has been 7 years worth of unanswered emails. Never, no matter the subject or situation, I ever got a response.

This last one was the straw that broke the camels back since I was told by a rep it would be noted. Also, it was the first rep I've ever talked to that seemed bored and uninterested with my problem, almost rude, and completely unwilling to simply please the customer, which in my opinion, is the first step in customer service.

Everyone else I've ever talked to at EKI has been extremely awesome tho.

I must have ran over a Gypsy at some point in my life. With an Emerson. Lol.

BLEH.

I suggest getting a hold of Emerson rep . My emails wouldn't send at first then they sent but no response , well he/she relayed some messages from me to them about the time the emails got answered .

I will say this Emerson did answer me and the lady that responded was very nice and very helpful. So was Emerson rep on here . The guy I emailed back and forth with, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he was just busy or behind etc. His attitude was the complete opposite of the lady though. That being said they did take care of me so I have no complaints ,just figured I'd list the good with the bad so not to be confused as a fan boy .

EmersonRep has always been very helpful.

Ann too. And a cool tech who I can't name.

If I decide to expend more energy, I'll pursue the specific issue I'm having. Which is exactly why my attitude is sour. I shouldn't have to expend more energy, and I shouldn't feel that it will be a waste of time. But I do, tho, and that sucks.

To detail further would be irrelevant, and in bad form. The rest would need to be handled privately.

Again, I'm not really mad at Emerson. I'm highly pissed off at my comically bad luck, however. I freely admit the butthurt.

This thread is really more about putting things in perspective

Thank you guys for allowing me to hash stuff out here. It helps more than you would believe, beyond what you I can type to you.

Happy Independence Day!

My experience like that has been with another well-liked company whose owner chimes in on threads here and there. Couldn't get anywhere with 'em. My Emerson experience has been just the opposite of yours... emails answered and work performed in a timely and friendly manner.

Just posting to say that it happens to others and with different companies, so yeah... probably the luck of the draw. I'm sure it is in my case, anyway.

Op may I suggest giVing them a call ? Sometimes emails don't get answered for whatever reason , sometimes they get overlooked etc. Not making excuses for anyone but maybe a 2 minute phone call could get you squared away.

I was in a situation like yours with another company ,never got a response etc. Made a phone call and while on the phone was asked to send an email and they never got it while on the phone with me .

When I decide to do this again, that's my plan.

FWIW, I did consider the possibility of technical problems. Every time.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement.

Dear Jamesh Bond,

Please send an email to info@emersonknives.com.

Please include in the email; the string of your previous emails and that your screen name is Jamesh Bond from the Bladeforums so I know who I am talking to.

If your emails are not getting through to us or if they are not being addressed I cannot locate you because I do not know your name or email address.

I hate screen names. I've never used one on numerous forums that I've participated in.

I think it is a liability for those who participate on forums as I never say anything in print that I won't say face to face. It keeps my civility in check and I think it is a mature way to carry on any discussion or debate.

This does not apply to you Jamesh Bond. It's just that I think anonymity causes problems in a lot of ways.

I deal with clandestine services and agencies on a daily basis and I assure you that no one who posts on a knife forum, gun forum, car forum, camera forum, flashlight forum or whisky forum requires such secrecy. Sorry about the rant.

Jamesh I'm just trying to straighten this out.

Best,
Ernest

Hello, Ernest.

I did call and got my current knife issue sorted out in person. Highly satisfied, I might also add.

That address is where I sent everything. Your attention leads me to believe the email issue is, indeed, on my end somewhere. I'll look into it deeper. Curiosity satisfied.

As stated, the past emails are irrelevant now. This thread was more for a little support and perspective. No negativity was ever intended toward EKI as a company or to you.

I truly hope that isn't how I came across.

I am all too aware of the bashing and ignorance forums can harbor, and can only imagine how sick of it you, as a business owner, and rightfully proud knife designer can be.

Written words can be a terrible medium of expression, so let me just say words can't express how impressed and satisfied I am with my latest experience. It cancels out any possible gripe ten fold.

My apologies for any hassle, and any miscommunication that implied anything against EKI, and my sincere thanks to you and your crew for such excellent form.

I would have been a lifelong fan, regardless. But now, you can call me a rabid one.

Thank you so much for everything, Mr. Emerson.

Take care!

Glad you got taken care of. Feel free to PM me as well with any questions. 👍

Well done on both ends. I, for one, never sensed any negativity in the OP... just some frustration and searching for support / info. And I understand the frustration. I've never been able to find out why I'm banned from one maker's factory forum when I rarely visited it and never engaged anyone in any kind of discussion.

Now... back to hanging out with my Emersons.
