I stated my collection with the CQC-10 (a 2005) back in 2005 when I was deployed in Iraq. I had really wanted a CQC-7, but at that time they were near impossible to find and when I could find one they were going for $250. The years went by and last year I finally added 2 CQC-7's, first was the OD Green handled 2004 and a 2013 a few months later. Then there's the new addition, about a week ago I came across a Mini Commander on ebay at a decent price that I couldn't pass up. It's been through quite a bit of use, and unfortunately the blade logo is almost completely gone. I can barley make out the least bit of year, it's somewhere in the 2000's, either a 2000 or 2009. I really wish Emerson would have etched the marking much deeper in the blade. After I pulled the knife out of the box I noticed it smelled a bit raunchy. I think the previous owner lubed it with cooking oil to keep it food safe, that later went rancid. So I pulled it all apart and gave it a good soap and water scrubbing! I gave the blade some work on a Spyderco Sharpmaker and a bit of stropping. It's good to go now, I just wish the pocket clip was a little lighter, its got a lot of pressure on it and a bit hard to get out of the pocket.
