CONTEST RULES ARE SIMPLE

CONTEST WILL RUN FROM NOW UNTIL LABOR DAY MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2014. AT 1201 AM

CONTEST WILL BE FOR FUN, NO PRIZES, JUST BRAGGING RIGHTS.

I WILL TRY AND NOT BE IN HOSPITAL AGAIN WHEN CONTEST ENDS THIS TIME SO WINNERS ARE ANNOUNCED ON TIME.​

My Home, my Emerson. Simple idea is to photograph your one of your Emerson knives at HOME. Home is the State, City, or Town where you live.

Now the Tricky Part is your photo must illustrate with NO WORDS where you live.

If you live in some big city with some very well know landmarks it is pretty easy. Like lets say you live in China Town San Francisco, you could shoot the Emerson in front of the San Francisco China Town Main Entrance Sign, and you accomplished the mission, (<<<---this could be boring), or one of the other well know landmarks.

I will judge the competition on composition, creativity, no boring photos please like my example above, lighting, and the wow factor. The wow factor is what a photo editor would say if your photo was the one that made the editor say wow. Because it said in one picture, what could have taken 1,000 words to say.

No limit to the number of submissions, or photos that you want to post to sell, or convey the idea this in MY HOME.

Man this is going to be a fun challenge for me. I will get in for sure! Thanks for running a nice long opening. Hope to see lots of EKI's.

I wen't out and shot a few just to get a feel for it but nothing yet I would post.

Cirque time, I see the knife, it is sharp and in Focus, but I see nothing in the BACKGROUND that identifies home. You got it half right, but where is home.
 
Richstag, that is one awesome knife there! Very cool looking. I don't think Pennypincher read what you wrote to accompany the picture though...
 
Both Photos were good, or if you like Cool. But they did not make the identification of home easy. So where is home in the blurry background? I do not know so your photo did not tell the story.

This one was to make you use your imagination and brain. Black-eyed Susan is Maryland state flower. Orange is orioles. Purple is ravens.

I guess maybe we need to know about state history ;)
 
I tried to find an image to sell my idea, So if the Subject was an Old Pair of Boots, and the idea was to create a Photo with the Boots in a Place that was easy for most people to recognize. Who can guess where the Boot were in the photo? Hint the place is in Washington D.C.

I used the example to keep the idea simple, people who are creative, can take a very simple idea, and create some very exciting photos.

There was a photographer who live in NYC, his name was Peter B. Kaplin he was famous for photos in high places, and used fish eye lenses to create dramatic photo, of boring subjects.
 
I would bet it's going to take time knowing we need to find a landmark or cliche monument. I had thought of swapping to my wide angle to try to fit what you find interesting also. Chances are when I get by a place that fits the bill I won't have my Eki or camera. I'm probably out but I'm glad I helped you clarify. Good luck!
 
August 5th., and still no entries. Very disappointed, and I have a personal excuse for not doing mine. Been in the Hospital again, was at the Hospital all day yesterday as an Outpatient, back to the Clinic today for more blood Work. But I am planning my photo.
 
Sorry AKA! Weather has been quite foggy and overcast not letting me get any decent pictures. I also work everyday so it's always difficult to go somewhere but I do want to get some pictures submitted. Hope everything goes well for you at the hospital!
