OK so the rules are what restricted a lot of my choices.

Pouch Based Survival Kit OFFICIAL RULES

1. The kit should be constructed to support one person for up to 72 hours in varied wilderness environments and conditions.

2. Any type of pouch, bag, box or container will be acceptable so long as it is a total volume of 101 Cubic Inches or less.

3. It will be assumed that you are wearing season appropriate clothing. It is not assumed that you have a water bottle, knife or any other tools or equipment.

4. There is no monetary limit on your kit. Spend as much or as little as you wish.

5. Items that will not fit inside the pouch or container may be attached to loops, straps or other attachment points within reason. The overall volume of exterior items may not exceed the volume of your PSK pouch or container. Example: A single flashlight too long for the pouch may be attached to the exterior, an AR-15 may not. Only individual items may be attached to the main kit exterior, no additional pouches, bags, boxes or containers will be allowed. Example: a carabiner may be clipped to an outside MOLLE loop, but a second ammo pouch may not.
