like most I carry a folder and went from junk to Kershaw/Ken Onion or some utility blade. bought a big CRKT w/auto lock and that was a nice EDC but speed to deploy always had me wondering. then one day I read something about a "wave" feature? wow what the heck was I missing? not knowing anything about Emerson (or knives in general) and reading all the raves about the Sypderco w/wave I bought one. Could only wear it strong side because with that blade style I'd usually stick myself trying to deploy from the left. Anyways, the plastic lock release button failed so into the junk drawer it went.

then I bought 2 CS ti-lights (on sale!) to experiment. cool looking but I found the handles a little to dainty small and could never quite get the hang of their opening version.

finally, Finally, I got my hands on a real honest to God Emerson! Carry it every day and love everything about it - the wave, grip, balance. Finally I'm at ease. As Clint says (paraphrasing) it's a big knife going in the pocket and a big knife when it comes out.

so I bought another too :D Emerson stands at the top of the heap far as I'm concerned.

oh yeah, it did draw my blood first day too. I was practicing support side and didn't quite get it opened all the way so flipped it - right into my pinky. dumbass! :p

Simple: the 8 is how a good knife feels in your hand, forward or reverse..its perfect in my opinion
