I thought I would state my past experience with Spyderco service. I'm an old guy in my sixties and don't post much. I have been buying but USING Spyderco knives for over 25 years.

1] I have an old Sheep's foot with a wide S/S handle that isn't even listed in http://www.spydie.nl/
The lock broke and was told I could get an exchange for the worn out knife..............not a warranty issue. I said no thanks.

2] I had a Jess Horn problem but is was from hard use, nothing they could warranty but it was re profiled and sharpened free.

3] I sent in a lock failure on an old ? can't remember, and a gentleman sent me a Wegner, free, no charge.

4] I just sent in a Wayne Goddard and Charlynn said sorry it cannot be repaired and was not covered by their warranty and no longer made, but because of the condition I could have credit for a current replacement. I choose a Rock Salt for a very modest surcharge.

I think Spyderco has fantastic service backing their products. Their knives are some of the sharpest new out of the box. I love their "hole" for one hand opening. It has set a new standard in the knife industry.

I cannot believe anyone would have something negative to say about this company! I am very happy with Spyderco knives and I hope to live long enough to wear out a few more of their pocket knives. :-)

Hi sams. I'm glad to hear that you were treated right. My first Spyderco was a Delica I saved up for when I was 13 years old. My experience with them has always been one of quality of getting a great bang for the buck.
Something else that is cool is having Sal and Kristi around here participating. To me that says a lot and it's what keeps me loyal. Am I a Spyderco fanboy? Well, I probably am - I'm also a fan of quality, great customer service, and high value.

Hi, I would really appreciate a picture. I'm pretty confident I have every major model listed on my site. If you can't post/take a picture, could you describe the model a bit more?
Thanks,
Ted

........pretty much my experience also.

We have a new puppy in the household. I had a few of my empty Spyderco boxes on the coffee table...and when I turned by back the dog had torn them to shreds. I gave customer service a call, explaining what happened. I wanted to know if I could buy some empty replacement knife boxes, but they sent out two free ones in just a few days !

It was a pleasure to speak with Charlynn at Spyderco on the phone.

NOTE : I've since bought some chew toys for the dog.:)

- regards

I will take a pic and try to email it to you.:)

It is like the old mariner but twice as wide. It has a scale on the side of the handle. Also a small notch line cutter on the blade. I bought it in the early 80's .

You didn't scroll down far enough, that model appears to be the Pre-Diver and is located 7th from the bottom of the Spydie.nl list.

A great warranty is one thing. Great CS is another. Both are good reasons to take a look at Spyderco.

Personally, the reason I keep buying Spyderco is that their knives VERY rarely NEED CS or warranty help.

Yep thay's the one I was refering to, good job. I just took pics to show you fellows when I opened the page I read this.

Sorry for any stress I might have caused.:)

Never needed to talk to their CS, but I am not surprised in the least at people's experiences with them. Good companies like Spyderco that have developed such loyal customer bases do that on three basic fronts: Product quality, value, and service. Spyderco has a tremendously loyal customer base, so it should be no surprise that those three things are all tops.

The true test for me is the fact that I paid something like 50 bucks for a Native a few years back when I literally didn't have two nickles to rub together. I had to save for a good three or four months to buy that knife without digging myself into a hole! (I went back to school later in life and was unemployed on account of my student teaching responsibilities) The product lived up to every expectation I had for it, and I never regretted the decision.

Also, I have always liked the fact that they are a Colorado company. I always try to buy Colorado when I can, and even though Seki City is the source of my Endura, a Colorado company that I trust puts it's name behind it. Good enough for me.

Not to knock customer service at Spyderco, I've just never had to use them. I have used CS for other great knife companies on two occasions. I've just never had a Spyderco fail. I've had Spyderco's since the 80's. Good to hear about your experience.

Their great CS is good to know. I have 15 Spyderco folders and have never had to use their CS. My oldest is 1st gen Delica that my son used for 11 years as a Bosuns mate in the USN.

Thanks to Sams and everyone else for the kind words. It's always good to know that we're hitting the mark. We will continue to do our best to earn your trust and confidence.

Stay safe,

Mike
