After owning a number of disappointing models from Benchmade over the past few years, I recently made one of the smartest moves in my knife buying life and pre-ordered one of their new model 755MPR. I received this knife yesterday and have hardly put it down since. The quality and build of this knife is superb and probably the best knife BM has come out with in years. It is a brute of a knife and when they advertise it as "overbuilt" they mean it! This knife is the definition of rugged and I have owned Strider folders that pale in comparison. The knife itself is beautifully done and the blade came finger-cutting sharp :D right out of the box. The action is smooth and the blade on mine is perfectly centered. Upon opening, a distinctive "clack" is heard reminiscent of the Strider SNG and SMF. This is what I call a "bank vault" lock up!
Even though I've moved more towards the custom end of the spectrum, I feel good knowing that a company like Benchmade can still put out a superb production knife such as this at what I consider to be a bargain price. This knife may not be for everyone; It is heavy at 5.5oz and many will find the 2.9" blade too short for their needs. On the other hand, anyone looking for a Strider-tough knife at about 1/3 of the price will love the 755MPR.

Ergonomics are great if you like heavier, thick knives which I do. - I showed it to one of my friends this morning and the only drawback he saw was that the thumbstud was hard to get at for him, but his fingers are like sausages.
Some quick pics: And by the way- This is the color of the scales on these no matter what you've seen elsewhere. I'd call it a "hunter" or "forest" green. Definitely not OD.

I was looking at those on cutlery shoppe's site. What are the specs on it and what is the blade steel?
