Thursday I received a new FN31 Fallkniven Folder with Yellow Bone Scales. I liked the knife with the 3G steel and the HRC 62. The only issue was that it comes in a nylon pouch and does not have a pocket clip. The yellow bone is nicer then I expected but wanted to change it to Desert Ironwood Burl. Early this week I ordered the Ironwood, from Arizona Ironwood, and it also came Thursday. The first thing to tackle was the clip. This was completed on Friday. Saturday began shaping the scales from the Ironwood Burl. This wood is easy to work with.
The quality of the knife is up there with the higher end production knives. IMO It has teflon washers for a very smooth operation. Below are pictures of the knife. Hope you like the changes I made.

Thanks for the compliment. I really like the quality of the knife. Hit the edge on .25 diamond spray strop about 10 times on each side. The hair pops off the arm. This one is made in Japan. The VG10 steel model is made in Sweden. Had both in my hand and they seem identical in workmanship.

You do extremely nice work mate! Your skill has made an excellent knife even more beautiful than it already was! Pity for me that you don't live in Canada or I would love to have you do my Fallkniven PXL.
Well done! :)

Best regards

Leo,
Thanks for the kind words. The knife steel cuts extremely well and doesn't seem to be offensive to the sheepie ones. So far very pleased with Fallkniven product.

Thanks Kevin. I was thinking of replacing the SS screws with Gold ones. It should go well against the stainless frame.

Considering that the first thing I do when I get a folder with pocket clip is take the damn thing off, I think you can guess where I'm going with this.
The D.I. Burl scales are lovely and I'd love to see them when you get to "micromesh range".

I can't get excited about the pocket clip though, to me it's a bit like admiring the scaffolding around St.Pauls Cathedral.

I do like the pocket clip on knives because I spend most of my time in jeans. Not a fan of pocket clips when wearing dress slacks. Not sure I will go with a micro-mesh finish on the wood as sometimes it makes it look phoney or like imitation plastic wood. Right now it seems to have a warmer tone to it but in a few weeks I might decide to bring it up a little. Thanks for your thoughts.
Ron
