Took some pics of my favorite 7"+ blades. The 1 non Becker is an HI Bahadur (which is eerily reminiscent of a Brute ;P). I think I'll strip the 5 and 7 to match the 9.

BTW, after the holidays I used the 9 to chop the Christmas tree in half. I was in the driveway and didn't use a backstop because I was too lazy to place one. Big mistake. A glancing blow later, and driveway met the knife tip. Winner? You decide:

The knife pic was taken after a few sharpenings, so the damage isn't as obvious. Still, it's a testament of the durability of the 9 to pretty much shrug off a head on collision with cement.

The 5 is a CRKS kydex sheath, the rest are Mashed Cat Outfitter sheaths.

Thank you, gentlemen. I ended up stripping the 5 and 7, I really dig the aesthetics of the bare blades. Thanks for looking!

The 9 is brown Micarta? Looks almost like wood from those pics.

All 3 Beckers in the pic have the same micarta from Tomar's. The brown was syed with Kiwi brown shoe polish, the green with RIT fabric dye, and the tan was how it came from Tomar's.

Here are the 5 and 7 stripped. It drastically changed the way they look to me.

The 5 has been calling my name at night. Both look great stripped. Nice work.

Thanks. Oddly enough, I was on the fence about getting the 5, and had buyer's remorse while waiting for it to be delivered. Once I had it in hand though, I ignored my other knives for a few days and used the 5 exclusively. After the strip job, I like it even more. It's currently earning its keep and is the current "go to" knife in my knife rotation.

Get it, dude. It's one awesome piece of equipment.

That green fabric dye really looks nice on the micarta grips. What do you use the 5 for the most?

Nice collection! Who made the kydex sheaths for your Beckers?

Eric Lind of Mashed Cat Outfitters for the 7 and 9, CRKS for the 5.

Thanks. The 5 is on slicing duty, mostly breaking down cardboard boxes these days. I buy a lot of stuff online ;P I'm tempted to relegate it to food prep work.

Boy, that 5 looks really good stripped!! I have been on the fence regarding the 5 but this might just be the push I needed.

Nice work, great collection!!

I was gonna say how much I like the look of the 5 black with the micarts, but it looks just as good stripped.

Now I want a 7 and 5 even more.
