My Farmer with added scissors arrived this morning, and BOY, OH BOY, am I happy!

I put this mod off for a long time because I assumed it would be prohibitively expensive. It turns out, it was really quite affordable.

Now to the knife itself... The scissors adds .8 ounces to the knife. On my scale, a regular Farmer weighs 3 oz. The Farmer with scissors is 3.8 ounces. As to the thickness, the scissors adds about 1/8 inch. No big deal as far as ease of carry, and it makes for a better hand-filling grip. An added benefit for me is that it moves that annoying lanyard attachment just far enough away from my palm that I don't feel it. I'm a lefty, though. If you're right handed, the extra thickness won't help.

I am so happy with this knife! Scibeer is amazing!

I am pretty close to getting one of my own, but I want to keep it pretty slim. How pocketable is it in dress pants?

I'd be more concerned about the weight in dress pants. In heavier and tighter pants like jeans, the knife isn't likely to flop around in the pocket as much. I kinda thought the regular Farmer was a bit much for dress pants. As far as thickness, it's an 1/8" thicker, or about as thick as a Rucksack. The thickness wouldn't keep me from carrying it with dress pants. The weight might.

I swear blazers were invented just to carry your stuff when you have dress pants on. Same goes for the man-purse I use.

Yes Scibeer does do some amazing things. Hope you can show some pics soon, I really like looking at them.

scibeer is the guy who does all kinds of cool SAK mods. He frequents SOSAK sub-forum knifeforums.com (you have to ask to join by posting in the "THE SECRET ORDER..." top-level forum). Scibeer does custom mods on request, as well as invents his own mods which get sold to SAK fans either directly or through Felinevet shop.

I'm here too, but not as often.

I'm trying to keep Felinevet stocked up on alox mods so you can check them out in his store and support the non profit by purchasing from him.

Really glad you like it Scott!!! Thank you.

Sciber just created my new EDC....large / small blade farmer with scissors. This thing is AWSOME. Thanks Bill.

If anyone is thinking about a custom SAK.....Sciber is the guy. Great communication, excellent quality of craftsmanship and fast shipping.

I don't just like it. I LOVE it. It's kinda ruined things for me, though. I've sorta lost interest in SAKs. I've found the perfect pocket knife. Why look any further? I've tried 108s, the Hiker, Champion, Rucksack, Trademan, OHT, , the regular Farmer and now this. The Farmer with scissors is THE perfect edc. It's a tad thicker, and a tiny bit heavier, but it's solid, handfilling, wonderfully functional and beautiful. That beauty is fragile, though, and that red alox will scratch up sooner or later. Then it will develop another sort of charm. It will still be the perfect knife (for me.)

Slide it across the driveway a couple times and get it over with Scott. Then ya don't have to worry!

Thanks for the nice comments all!

Bill - and his work- rocks! :D

I'm not sure why, but I've never seen the price for such a mod mentioned. Perhaps that's not polite. Perhaps it's just not allowed. In any case, I'll keep that to myself. But, let me say, that I put this mod off for a while, because I assumed it would be too costly. Finally, I emailed scibeer for the price. Turns out it was quite affordable. Don't let fear of the cost stop you with this one.:thumbup::thumbup:

If you want to see what the mods run, I suggest checking Felinevet's store. Getting them from him helps the non profit and he is a blade forums supporter.

I don't want to upset the moderators here and will not discuss pricing on these open forums. I'm sure there is some kind of rule against it and I want to respect that please.

I'm always willing to answer questions about modding including how to's if you ever want to try it yourself.
