Aloha ALL,

Been gone for sometime, I dunno where to "get back into the fray"...

So I figure I would share my fastest discontinued model ever: The RESCOM FB.

This model was asked to be done, and then when it got finished, it got disco'd. Folks were requesting a FB version of the Rescom Folder. Here is the RFB among it's folding counterpart:

I got my RFB sometime last year, and I tend to carry any one of my new designs for several weeks. I carried my RFB all over the place, and it proved to be comfy even while driving when belt carried. Now, most of my knife duties are in the form of opening boxes/breaking them down, and yard duty. I got away with the RFB for sometime, even though it has no tip. When confronted with a well taped box per se, I simply used the carbide glass breaker on the pommel to create an opening large enough to slip the RFB's "hook" through to then cut the tape. It also did wonders in the yard! Oh yeah, RFB came with a Kydex sheath and I attached mine to a Tek Lok.

Scales for the RFB are textured G10. Now, this may seem biased coming from me, but this has one of the best "grab you back" G10 scales I have ever felt. It's a bummer this one got disco'd so fast...but ah well...I am just happy to own one.

I am still confused however as to, "Why"...

God bless and hope to see you all soon. Until then, stay safe.

I like it! Its got a lot of really useful features. Maybe you can get a Guinness Book of World Records record out of it?

Yo bro!

...ya know, I probably could get a record for the fastest disco'd model ever in the knife industry! I don't know of any newbie who landed both Spyderco and Boker at the same time, so hey...why not a world record?

Really though...this RFB is mics out at about 4mm thick, has a very grippy G10 handle, OAL is a about 6 1/4" so it ain't overly "big"...kydex sheath...

I am ordering a few more before they disappear entirely because I wanna try to make a pry front on one, to act as a pry, screwdriver, scraper, etc...I am pretty sure this one is strong enough for such tasks.

BTW, ya recognize that scale on one of them Rescom Folders???;)

God bless ya bro, and thanks for everything!!!

I guess getting to manage so many different designs is a bit of a problem for a big manufacturer like Boker.

Remember they range from kitchen knife to classic slip joints, including tactical...

They did quite a good job clarifying their business with Boker, Boker+ et Magnum.

Maybe they should try to go like Spyderco: producing sprint runs of various designs and then re-issuing those who sell the most. Sounds like a fairly good compromise to me.

Ahhhloha bro!

Great to see you!

Yes, I am very familiar with Boker's range of knives, and have brought up Sprint Runs years ago. However, they are VERY busy people there in Germany. Not only do they have to focus on their lines (Boker Plus, Magnum, etc...) BUT the other brands that they distribute throughout Europe!

Ah well...perhaps if they ran some ad-time for *some* of their new knives, it'd make a difference in their sales...

Hey, God bless and nice to see you again!

I remember seeing something about that awhile back and was eagerly looking forward to it but now :(. I keep my RESCOM in the car for emergencies and thankfully have never had to use it. I liked the idea of a glass breaker on the end. Sorry to hear about that amigo :(:(.

Ahhhh my amigo,

Thanks bro for your condolences. I too, am glad that ya never had to use that Rescom folder, and I pray to God that you never do! However, should you be a "first responder" or HAVE to use it, I know you'll succeed.

God bless and I still envy you for owning that 45...;)

I'm eyeing up a SA Lightweight Operator with a 4" barrel as we speak, haven't completely decided yet ;). I got a couple of magazines I still need to send you yet, I haven't forgotten. You'd think with the little one being in 4-K part time I'd have a little more time to get things done. Hasn't quite worked out that way for some reason .

Salamat Po pare!

Ay sus naman!!! No moooore de RESCOM FB!!!:p

Mahalo my friend, good to see you!
God bless!

Salamat din Chad for your kickass designs! The M-Type rules!

Good to see you as well surviving after some trying times. Sabi nga nila: lilipas din ang lahat ng yan :)

Ingat ka!

... i can't understand it!
As you said, everybody requested it... now that it is availble... no need anymore???

For me personally a perfect tool for police, military or any other outdoor enthusiast, who have to depend on a reliable, highly functional rope cutter.

Chad, for you an dother working in hell, we sold many of the folding Rescoms to german corrections officer...

This is sad, cause there is no other tool like it on the market!!!!

Folks, save the Rescom FB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
