Like the title says my 501 Larrin came apart. I reached in my pocket to retrieve it and it came out in two pieces! The Ebnoy scale separated from the frame clean like the glue just let loose. I’m glad the scale isn’t broken it just decided to divorce the rest of the knife. I’m also wondering what kind of glue or resin I can use to fasten it back on permanently.
Any of you guys know what works good on Ebony wood and nickel silver? Thanks in advance!

I agree with all the above. It's under warranty, and Buck needs to know about it. However, if you don't want to wait for them, a SLOW setting epoxy is the ticket. Our local Woodcraft runs knife kit making classes. They use, and sell, System Three T-88 structural epoxy, because it is not a brittle epoxy. I think it has a 45 min. working time, and overnight or 24 complete cure time. It is NOT cheap. System Three also makes an epoxy called Blade Pro, specifically for knifemaking, also available from Woodcraft, and from System Three online. Like AntDog says, rough both surface up, vacuum and tack rag the dust off, use good, slow epoxy, clamp it flush, sand, etc. Sorry you had scale failure. I really like my Larrin.

Send it back to us and let me take a look. Please send it directly to me.

Okay I’ll try to get it to you ASAP, I just started with new owners in my workplace and it’s really hectic. Hopefully this coming week I can get some time to send it. Can you pm me the address, your name and instructions? Thanks

Mine did this a few weeks after I got it... In defense of Buck, it had already been dropped multiple times at that point, and the scale came off when it hit the floor.

I just used some white gorilla glue. It's been fine since, and the other scale hasn't let go either.

Now you are all making me nervous hat the handle scale on my Larrin 501 is going to self-destruct!
It rated so high on my concern-o-meter I waited almost a year to say anything. Truth be told I don't even remember which scale popped off, a little glue and it was back in business. I carry it every weekend as my primary knife at the second job. Whatever one didn't come off is still fine.

I think I will keep my eyes open to purchase a back up 501 Larrin. I don’t feel comfortable with only 2 of them now.

That was a quick turnaround shipped to Buck on 7/8 and it’s back home 7/22 like nothing ever happened ! Bucks warranty department did an outstanding job! Thanks Matt !
Thanks for reporting your experience. Its reassuring to see Buck continues to value customer service. While its a pain to send things back, it seems like they always come back as good or better than new. My experience as well.

As a fellow Buck 501 Larrin knife owner I am quite happy to hear that they took care of you and quickly too!
