my favorite folder is the kershaw freefall. its got great action, smooth, fast, sharp and sturdy and for 40$ i couldn't go wrong! i also really like the ergo's ,it really locks your hand in. of course mine is tanto version with the stonewashed finish but i heard people were buying crappy low cost versions at walmart that were not assisted and had a black coating and thumbstuds. but like i said dont buy that version it sucks!

I think the military and the delica are two of spydey's best folder designs. But I carry an endura more often. Go figure.

My favorite knife right now would have to be the Kershaw Knockout. Nice, fat 3 and 1/4" blade. Aluminum handles are extremely ergonomic and lightweight, and the steel sub-frame lock ensures no blade play.

I love my Tim Britton Tango and Brian Tighe Breaker, but currently love carrying my ZT 801 the most. It's smooth, strong, ergonomically perfect, aesthetically beautiful, and it's a great cutter. Been using it to cut everything.

Oh and funny you bring up the Freefall. I am actually one of those people that bought the "crappy" low cost holiday packs. So tonight we had to tear some boxes down and I decided to bust out the blacked-out Freefall and give it a shot. I figured the 3Cr13 blade they used on this model would pretty much be like using a butter knife, but it actually performed all right. I cut a big box from a new doghouse my father in law ordered, and I took a couple of pics cuz Bladeforums is always in the back of my head :D

Anyways, here's the proud little mother sitting on his cardboard throne:

If this one did what was asked of it, I'm sure the actual legit Kershaw version you own is better by leaps and bounds! Hell, I have yet to be disappointed with any of my Kershaws.

Looks torn rather than sliced...

Haha forgive my ignorance. I failed to mention that is the last pile of pieces. The edge had dulled by the end of this exercise. It was a rather large box for a doghouse, so I wasn't surprised when it started catching on that heavy-duty cardboard.

The good news is I was able to get it sharp again really easily using only my Lansky Turnbox.

The Freefall angers me. It should have been a US made knife with a Sandvik blade, slightly thicker liner, and G10 scales. I REALLY like the looks of it in solid black too.

Very solid design and I'm very disappointed at who ever made the call to push it over to the Chinese line at KAI.

I feel the same way. Here's another pic for ya. Don't hate me, bro! ;)

Inexpensive well made frame lock I have to say the COAST FX350. Higher end might be my large ARS, or Sebbie, Hinderer, Frederick, or soon to be in my pocket a CQC11 from 04 that is MINTY fresh. I think the 7a and the 11 might be the best designs EKI has ever done. Actually getting more into fixed blades and out of folders, and if my Shipley nuclear hunter is any indication it might well be my last fixed blade too. Extremely sharp, and a helluva thick spine but a thin edge. keepem sharp

Favorite modern folder is my ZT 0200 or Benchmade 730-1303 Ares.

My current favorite.

That changes to often but currently my favorite folder is a xm-18 with laser engraved dog paws! Not many like it and my first hinderer so it hasnt left my pocket since I bought it!

I think I could collect and fall for a favorite new folder the rest of my life and never leave the Kershaw brand. In fact, after I get a law making batoning illegal I may try and get all other bands outlawed.

Currently I'm carrying a Tension during hunting season as it's like a little Bowie and in warmer weather it's a semi serrated Kuro. Cabelas has the One ton on sale for ten bucks that I'm sure will cut with a $300.00 knife. Then there's the Tanto Blur...

if they made it with all that it would be way more expensive which kinda defeats the purpose IMO. i have 0 problems with it, i love it
