I have a rather large collection of large size folders (Emerson/Strider/Medford etc.etc.etc.)

Lately, I have gotten in the habit of carrying some of my smaller (but high quality) folders.

Here are my 3 favorites:

1. Emerson Mini CQC-7AW

2. Medford Micro Praetorian

3. Emerson Horseman

I just purchased the Horseman. Years back, I had a Super CQC-8 & absolutely hated it & sold it 3 weeks after I bought it. Because of that, I had never considered the Horseman until just recently when I was looking for another compact size folder.

The Horseman new out of the box was the stiffest action of any knife I had ever purchased LOL. I darn near had to pry it open, & even after a week or so of repeated opening/closing it had not loosened up one bit.

At that point, I took it apart, slightly loosened the closed detent & lubed it with a few drops of nano-oil. That made all the difference in the world. It is now so smooth it feels like it is running on ball bearings.

The CQC-7AW was always very smooth. All 3 of these knives are smooth as can be now, all 3 are perfectly centered & are great little pocket knives.
