Ever since day one of the forums, I have been wondering what the heck you knuts love so much about your precious Spyderco. As for myself, I will never be a Spyderhead, but I now own a few in my collection, and I do feel they are worth every penny. My newest favorite knife, and now, daily carry has become the Bob Lum Tanto. This is a beautiful knife, with a handle material that I love, and a blade shape and size that I love. What really does it for me though, are the ergonomices. Even when it is closed it is easy to hold, and it feels like it could be used very effectively guntig-style, but I won't speculate, since I know almost nothing about that fighting style. As for the handle itself, the two extentions?, guards? at the top an bottom of the knife make this a very secure knife in my hand, indeed, and well as making me confident in it's non-slippage. The lock is as good as any linerlock I've ever played with, and it has a ball-bearing and detent for extra-smoothness. In short, it's a user knife that, for me, has few equals.
does anyone else agree?

Love my Lum , but I don't have the heart to use it. Can't wait for the G-10 models.
Now if we can just get it in FRN for everyday use.

I'm sure that when the G-10 Lum Tanto becomes available and I buy one it will be my favorite Spyderco also... For some reason I find plain metal handled knives uninteresting, hence no Ti-handled Lum for me...

There's no reason to leave the Lum at home. It's a tank. A beautiful tank, but a tank none the less. A little ScotchBrite takes care of the handles just fine. I carry mine frequently, considering it semi-dress (sorta like "business casual").

My only question is whether or not I can get my steel liner, which holds fine, but fails the spine-whack 100%, upgraded to Ti. Sal?
