:D

Yes, a Full SE Milie

If you keep the serrations sharp (it's not hard, even with a normal benchstone) it will cut damn near EVERYTHING better. From slippery nylon rope, to thick cardboard, to peeling fruit, to everyday food prep... To weed cutting around the house... To pruning bushes (can even saw with it if one pull is not enough,) ... can do damn near everything better...

Can't shave or whittle wood as well as a plain edge, but all else is fair game

Really if you don't have a full SE spydie, you owe yourself a fair shake at carrying one. They are not used like saws like most people think, just act like your using a PlainEdge.

So what's your favorite "working" Spydie of all time? :)

My E4 ZDP is my favorite worker. It might get replaced by my S2 FRN, though; I haven't gotten a chance to use it yet.

I love all spydies but my favorite working spydie would have to be the tenacious.....love that knife....and at that price I can afford to beat on it a little

Stretch, definitely the Stretch. Great ergonomics, compact, efficient, slices like a demon. Just can't decide whether this one...

or this one...

I have four working Spydies that fight it out...They are all SE and include the D'Allara Rescue, H1 Mariner, SE Caly3 and the SE Tenacious.

Now the two Spydies currently getting the most EDC time are the JD Smith and the FRN/ZDP Stretch.

But if I know we're gonna be out feeding the animals (and cutting lots and lots of Bailing twine and feedsacks) its a a Full SE Spydie.

Saw these yesterday, what a great set of videos showing the pure muscle that SE offers. The points take all the damage and leave the Mini hawkbills sharp....

As our friend would say...

Wait for it... :D

WOW :D

Forgot to add, I sharpen my SE the same way, but use a course DMT dia sharp and not a belt sander. Then again I have never been able to DESTROY a SE that bad :D

I knock the burr off with a Med profile stick, then go Fine profile stick.. Then 306 Ultra Fine benchstone, then knock the mini hawk bills with the corner of the same ultra fine benchstone, and last but not least I strop just as guys did in the video.

It takes a tad more time than a Plain Edge but will also last a lot longer... As you showed us in your video

I agree 100%... For what I do at work, nothing has ever worked better.

I've wanted an SE Millie for quite some time now.:D
You've pushed me over the edge.
It's on the wanted list now.

My favorite is a SE standard with g10 handles. Got it at an absurd price when one of the big online sellers was getting rid of them. Its my fav edc workhorse, nice sharp serrations even in ATS 55 and a useful point.

For bigger jobs then any of the fully serrated spydies makes me very happy.

I rebelled from serrated Spydies for the longest time, until I bought a user Military with Spydie-edge. It really changed my opinion. I used to think that serrated edge was really appropriate only for rope and so forth, but in reality it will handle just about anything that a PE will do, and many or most of those tasks are improved with the shear horsepower that a Spydie-edge brings to the game.

I'm another converted soul, owning both plain and serrated edges on Millies, Paras and Calyes. Spyderedge rocks!

Thanks Dericdesmond!

The great thing is that I didn't recall seeing you sharpen the inside of the scallops with the Sharpmaker (which is the main grief it gets from people in regards to time) but it still is popping sharp. If you had more time would you do each scallop on the SM or is hitting just the cutting edge enough?

My faith in SE just increased a huge deal and I was a fan before!
