So the family and I decided to escape reality/the grind and head to the mountains for my Friday. While you guys were sharking in blood red waters, we were heading up to the northern fork of the Yuba river to a little gold mining town called Downieville. Being a weekend trout maniac, I've frequented this stretch of the river (many times) before with my fishing buddies. Our trips usually consist of hiking like crazy, hunting for native trout, and then ending the day at the Downieville tavern (St. Charles place) to drink massive amounts of brown ale and chasing them with dozens of Old Fashions. It's a great time, don't get me wrong, but I wanted to visit this slow paced town in a more relaxed fashion: Sniff the sweet air, picnic on a sandy river beach, sip ice cold ale, and really take in the river as well as the historic town, and do this all with my son, daughter and wife.
There enough reflecting! here are some pics of the day.
I decided to take my CPM154 Ladyfinger with a very early tuxedo pattern and of course my shorty carried her double mint Kephart
