Well, it is time to share my thoughts and pictures of my Fiddleback knives.
To be honest, I live a big city of around 2 mil. people and do not have a lot of experience with knives in the field, survival, bushcrafting etc. I have some theoretical knowledge of steels, I love hiking and camping and I have handled about 50 different fixed blades and around 40 folding knives of different manufacturers, sizes and shapes.
My name is Uroš and I am an IT guy
I handle knives for more than 5 years know, do not have much experience with sharpening and I get my sheaths from a friend of mine named Bora and as a hobby... he owns a one-man-band workshop - Mad Dog Leather Works (his style is artistic, search him on FB for more of his work).
I was thinking of posting in already existing threads but because I plan to share as much as possible, it will be easier to start my own thread.
A lot of my knives are safe queens but I plan to use them as much as I can in the future.
The first will be my Woodsman knife... and what a knife that is. It was my first of knife that I got from Andy. After 5 months, I bough 10 knives just from reading experiences from the people on this forum.
Woodsman
Honduran Rosewood over black with an orange g10 pinstripe
Full Thickness Tang
Convex on 5/32”
This is the biggest blade that I have but it is very capable. Pointy tip, good balance if you like control from the wrist. As you can see, gorgeous handle that is really hand filling, belly under the index finger for secure grip. I do not like combat knives and I prefer the ones that I can hold by the butt and push without it carving into my hand. Handle is nicely shaped, no sharp corners but not to round (like BHK knifes if you ever hold one).
Except the kitchen, I didn't use it outside. I work a lot and I got a 11 months son, so, not much time to go into the woods.
Now, for some pictures (taken by Bora Mad Dog). Yes, he likes Western style
