I have on of those BM bali's with the zamak handles(9") and inserts. Depending how I open it, I get either a tight lock up or none at all. For example, if I do a V opening(as in clay's site), I get a tight lock up. If I do a latch drop opening, then I get zero lock up(when I close the latch). Anyone else have a similar problem? I don't know if I should take the pins out and replace them, use two punches and widen the tang pin or what. Any suggestions?

Hmmmmmmm......... I can't really tell what the problem is from your descriptions.

~ Is the problem concerning tight lock-up of the latch itself?? Like where the latch inserts into the butt of the other handle.

~ Or is the problem that the handles are loose when the Bali is fully open?? (wobbly blade)

Sounds similar to my 239. I corrected the problem (partly) by using Clays tip on tightening the pivot pin area (I used the vise technique). But - as said on the xtreme site - it's only temporary. The zamak is already stretching and they're loosening up again.

I'd try contacting BM to see what they say before i embark on any mods of my own. Maybe they'll take a look at it.
