My first 2 neck knives............

I decided to make a neck knife a couple of weeks ago,it turned out fairly well,so well I`ve decided to make another, the kydex is a joy to use,I heated the kydex in the oven @325 degrees and placed the knife in it and then the whole thing in a 1`x1` peice of surplus G.I. foam bedroll(like a god awful taco) and stood on it for a minute.
I used super glue to seal the edges and added some teeny little nuts and bolts I got from the local hobby shop,I think the whole time spent making the sheath was about 15 minutes(not counting oven time).
I sold the second one on assaultweb.net for $55,it sold an hour and 15 minutes after I posted it.
Considering the materials cost and the short amount of time making these,I do believe I`ll be making lots more.
The first pic is my "test" model, made from a small file, the second one was made from 1084.

Being the hobbiest that I am,I think these turned out quite well,
Whatcha think?

Scott. I think they came out very good. Kydex looks nice too. Keep up the good work. Congrats on the sale.

Very nice, I realy like the bottom one.

I have a question though, I just finished makeing the sheath for my first neck knife, and was going to use 1/8" long gromlets, but the kydex is 1/8" thick when dobleed over. What did you use?

Thanks,guys.
Will52100,I used some very small brass nuts and bolts from the local hobby shop,I got them in the model railroad department, they work well and give the sheath a hi-tech look.
I really enjoyed making these little boogers, and I plan on making more, one day I might even have time to make one for myself.

Kind of a tie-in question; I'm working on a few damascus neck knives with mammoth ivoury scales, and I'm wondering if anyone can look at a photo of them, and give me a price quote on an aesthetically pleasant (read: no big rectangles) kydex sheath for them (or at least tell me if it's plausible to do a kydex sheath). My email is in my profile, if you don't want to post here. I am looking at having 10 total (to begin with, provided they all survive heat-treat with TKS or Don Halter), if that makes any difference to anyone. Moderators, please feel free to cut&paste and/or re-direct this thread as neccessary.

By the way, does anybody know if these are even legal in my state (Texas)? The exact cutting edge length is 3 3/16", and the overall length is 6".

Hey Scott..

Nice job..

Both look like nice little knives..

Good luck..

Man, what great looking knives!

I'm going to try to make some too if my first project (full sized blade) stalls.

Excellent job.
