That was a simple and successful hunt. Guess it was meant to be. My biggest deer to date. Pretty sweet!!

Here was my set up. Lying Prone :)

Congrats... Looks like you will be eating good this winter. I've never seen anyone put the legs in the fridge too
 
I had the whole legs in before I broke down the muscle groups for freezing. :)
 
Big bore ! Nice ! I broke in my finely made remington rolling block ,45-70 yesterday .A culling operation at a preserve ,taking a 300 lb female red deer .Those are related to our elk.
Used Corbon DPX, 300 Barnes at 1900 fps at about 100 yds.
After years of hunting I wasn't happy .Just as I squeezed off she ran ! The bullet took her too far back but slowed her . Second shot smashed through both shoulders.
Messy but the bullet performance was as it should be.I usually try for the lung shot ,very effective ,very little loss of meat.
