A friend of my Dad's contacted me and wanted a 3 piece kitchen knife set, and of course I was elated! He had a few specifics in mind, and was set in what he wanted, so I obliged. All three knives were to have the same handle. First off....the chef's knife. HAD to have a fat, but comfortable handle, and THICK stock. He wanted weight on the blade, and .125" was too thin for his liking....so we went with .156" O1 tool steel. The boning knife he wanted little to no flex...so we did .100" 52100. The paring knife was to have a blade style identical to a knife he already had (again...all three handles were to be the same...I think a paring knife should have minimal handle for multiple grips), and we did .063" 1095. The handles are non stabilized walnut burl that I picked up from Woodcraft, and was very pleased with how dense the wood was. Danish and Tru Oil finish on the handles. Corby bolts. I'm happy how they turned out. All three knives were sharpened to hair splicing keenness! He gets them this Tuesday evening. Anyways....I just had to show them off here to you fine gents! Thanks for peeking!

They look great, nice choice of steels. A friend of mine here in MT knows the recipient, and asked me if I'd seen your work. Small world huh?

Hey, thanks Guys!!!! Lessismore....the guy's last name is McCarson. Small world indeed! I've never met him, but my Dad stays at his place when he is in Del Rio. Seems like a really nice guy on top of it all.

Triple T.....I didn't realize who you were, Vayu! Thanks for the compliments! How is that M4 working for you?
