At 3" closed, this is an ideal size pocket knife for me. It is old and somewhat worn out, but has a lot of use left in it. I picked this one up along with a 6292, my first venture into old red bone Case knives.

I took these not long after opening the box, before even cleaning the knives. It is now getting a mineral oil soak, as it was filthy inside.

I like how the pen has been worn/sharpened down to almost a wharncliffe profile. Can't wait to put this one in my pocket and go!

The tip of the clip blade looks blunted in the first photo. It is not, just the shadow from the tree bark falling on the blade.

Doug - that knife is just great looking. The scales are looking great. All in all, even the knife might have seem a lot of use and carry it looks just great. Is there any bladeplay or gaps?

Thanks Andi. It is an old beater for sure. I just got it because I had never before owned a Case red bone knife.

No gaps that I can see. Both blades are worn/used/sharpened down quite a bit. The secondary has good snap all around, even at the half stop. The main, however, is in worse shape. It has improved as I have worked with it today, cleaning it out.

When it arrived it had no snap, and would not stay in place when fully open. It now snaps to the half stop both opening and closing, but the spring will not hold it tight when open. Has some side to side play as well.

Hey, it's older than I am, maybe as old as my dad, and neither one of us works they way we did when we were younger!
