This is my first attempt at hand sculpting G10. It took approx 2 months from rough to finish. I used titanium retaining tubes and HYSOL E20 epoxy to attach the scales to the knife. The only power tool that was used was a dremel for the rough cut. The scales were hand sanded and filed to shape, then hand rubbed with felt and diamond paste to a nice grippy shine. I shaped the scales in a way that it fits ambidextrously and also with knife forward or backward in either hand. It is very comfy regardless of the grip. SEE BELOW FOR MORE PICS ;)

Rob thank you! The tubes are not flared. The retaining tubes were bonded simultaneously with the scales. I used this same straight through setup on a LIN prybar knife and beat the dickens out of it; including using the LIN knife as log splitter using a hammer to drive it through the wood. It has held up for over a year and I believe this BATAC will as well. The HYSOL E20 is pretty amazing adhesive and the straight through tubes are plenty of support (thus far) to aid in lateral forces.
Nice work!!! Looks awesome! Are the tube fasteners flared?

Bill, can you post some pictures of you holding it?

P.s. The other pictures you posted aren't working for me (just the ones in the original post).

That finish looks awesome....never seen this polished finish on g10...you might have started something rite theeeaar......your movies are great too

Thank you..Lol The scale design is more for function, and the function is fantastic. The knife sits well in either hand regardless of the articulation. Polishing it was an after thought.

Bill,I can appreciate the time and thought that went into these! Quite a challenge you accomplished.
I really dig the scales, and you are surely proud of your work of art,as you should be.
Lots of work , Wow! G-10 is very xxxx#$% hard to work with by hand.
Thanks for sharing man.

Thank you for the complement Walnut, means alot. Yes I found very quickly (in seconds) how hard of a material G10 is to work by hand Hahaha. I experimented with several different types of files, thinking a rasp type would be best for rough shaping, however a double cut file cleaned often, proved to be best. I cant begin to account for the amount of sandpaper I went through, but I started with 80 grit and worked to 1,000 grit, then 0 steel wool, 0000 steel wool and then hand rubbed with felt and diamond paste. Needless to say I took many, many breaks throughout the process. My hands are visibly more muscular now Lol.

BUSSE007 I will attempt posting more images. The pics you are having trouble viewing are my attempt at posting more pics. Hopefully I'll have better success today. I promise I am quite computer literate, just not BForum literate Hahaha.
