So here it is my first attempt (atleast that I remember). I've done some in micarta for my 14 a while ago, but they didn't turn out anything like this. I guess the wood is curly oak; all I know is that it is oak. I sanded them down so that they do have some conture like the original tweener scales, but they aren't that deep. They do feel bigger in hand that the og ones. Overall I'm very happy with how they turned out, and I really don't think the pictures do them any justice what so ever. These things are just crazy awesome IMO!!

Although I could do a little touch up work on them......

Nicely done, Nick!
Good selection of wood - that's probably good ol' white oak. I've used some and have similar examples of the curly stuff. It's really cool and understated. Did you put any oil or other finish on the surface? I find Tru-Oil brings out the grain nicely and seals it up well.

Thanks guys!

Daizee, I did put some mineral oil on them. I found that the scales look like glass when held right in the light. I think I'll have to try something again some time; soon...

Thanks cam! I had started a hybrid leather kydex sheath for it, but that was before the woods scales. I still might finish it and pay it somewhere though.
